The R/V Montague: Alaska Marine Research Vessel
Homeport: Cordova, Prince William Sound, Alaska.
The R/V Montague was designed by George Hansen and is constructed of high quality corten and stainless steel with an excellent record of maintenance throughout her service. The main and auxiliary engines were installed in 1999 and have very low hours. Operating out of Cordova, Alaska, the Montague has been used for research in Prince William Sound, Gulf of Alaska, Cook Inlet, Hood Canal (WA) and Monterey Bay (CA).
Living Quarters
A private stateroom adjacent to the galley holds 2 bunks. A separate and spacious room below the galley houses four bunks, and an additional three bunks are located in the forepeak. Mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows, pillowcases, reading lights, and towels are provided for each of the bunks. The maximum # of persons the boat can accommodate is 8 (includes crew and passengers).
Galley
The full size galley contains a microwave, freezer, refrigerator, full size electric stove and sink with hot and cold running fresh water and large table that seats 8. There is an additional chest freezer on board as well.
The Montague has one head with toilet, freshwater sink and shower. Two additional sinks are located in the sleeping quarters.
Deck
Located on the 14’ X 18’ flush deck is a 8’6” X 10’ mobile aluminum dry lab. The heated lab features counter height workstations with salt water along with hot and cold running fresh water, UPS power outlets, under counter refrigerator and a deep sink.
