The R/V Montague is equipped with numerous implements to aid in mobile research. The boat boasts a 5000 LB capacity main boom with slider as well as port and starboard picking booms. There is a double drum deck winch, hydraulic longline/gillnet reel with levelwind, stern mounted railroad wheel launcher (for oceanographic moorings) and port and starboard rollers.

The mobile lab unit located on the back of the main deck is 8’6” by 10’. The heated lab is constructed of aluminum and equipped with hot and cold running freshwater and saltwater, as well as a deep sink, counter height workstations, UPS power for computer use, wrap around windows and a wet lab for biological samples. Special back up power systems ensure that power will always be available without fluctuations typically associated with marine operations.

Note from Owner

Since acquiring the boat in 2008, we continue to learn from our charters and are very interested in improving the working capabilities of the Montague. We have the flexibility and willingness to make modifications to suit the needs of each charter.
